The Red Hot Grind Show feat. Prince Monolulu and The Royal Ponces

Bedroom Bar, 62 Rivington Street, London

It's gonna be a special edition of The Grind Show at Bedroom Bar.  Stunning visuals, a brilliant band, an exotic dancer, and the brilliant Benjamin Louche as your compere!  DJ Rumble will perform a special live set of GRIND for your listening and dancing pleasure.  And of course, there is the band...

Prince Monolulu and the Royal Ponces are a rock 'n' roll/rhythm 'n' blues influenced six-piece outfit, injecting rhumba rhythms and soul grooves with a jazz and latin tinge. The band is led by singer songwriter Clive Franklin, who performs his own original songs with just a splattering of cover tunes. Clive and the rest of the band are due to go into the recording studio very soon!

And as a special attraction, performing live and in the flesh with the band will be the beautiful and talented PRINCESS MONOLULU!

For fact fans, Prince Monolulu was a larger than life character who was famous from the 20's til the mid 60's. He was something of an institution on the British horse racing scene as a tipster from the 1920s until the time of his death. Monolulu was particularly known for his brightly coloured clothing, and one of his best known phrases was the cry "I gotta horse!", which was subsequently the title of his memoirs. He frequently featured in broadcasts and movies, and as a consequence was probably the most well-known black man in Britain at the time.
